With fast switching capability SCR, capacitorbank can support the voltage of distribution system and improve the powerfactor of the load. SCR switches have no mechanical wear, with operation of nonoise, and SCR has practically advantages of the no transient process. So thecontrol signal can be transmitted directly from the load to the capacitor bank,which means that the power factor improvement have the minimum delay. By the controlsystem, the minimum time is only one cycle for the putting in or removal of allsegments capacitor banks.

Capacitor bank switched by SCR can rapidlymake the power factor compensation for the load of a lot of changes, such aselevators, cranes, rolling mill, a welder. Using SCR instead the contactor, switchingspeed can faster, and it also reduce the workload of maintenance and easierreplacement.
